What to do with holiday leftovers....

Updated: Dec 18, 2023

Food is a precious commodity and one we should not waste. Often we are tired of looking at the left over turkey, ham and so much more!

  • Freeze baked goods and bring them back out on a day when you need a snack!

  • Egg bakes! We love to take the left over veggie tray, proteins and other goodies and put them together to make egg muffins that are great grab and go options or for when you need the proteins pick me up.

  • Make a casserole and freeze it. Pull it out for a quick dinner or to give to someone in need. We all know someone that could use a meal throughout the year and this makes giving easy!

Here are some great recipes that are fun, creative and can liven up any holiday left over mish mash.

  • Thanksgiving Pizza:

    • Use leftover turkey as a topping along with cranberry sauce, stuffing, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese on a pizza crust.

  • Christmas Quesadillas:

    • Combine diced ham, leftover veggies, and cheese between tortillas. Serve with cranberry salsa for a festive twist.

  • Holiday Panini:

    • Layer slices of leftover roast beef or turkey with stuffing, cheese, and a spread of leftover gravy between slices of bread. Grill for a warm and crispy sandwich.

  • Hanukkah Latke Benedict:

    • Top potato latkes with poached eggs and leftover brisket or smoked salmon. Drizzle with hollandaise sauce for a brunch-inspired treat.

  • Festive Fried Rice:

    • Turn leftover ham, vegetables, and rice into a holiday-themed fried rice with a dash of soy sauce, ginger, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

  • Boxing Day Burritos:

    • Wrap leftover roasted meats, mashed potatoes, and veggies in a tortilla. Add a drizzle of leftover gravy for extra flavor.

  • New Year's Eve Bruschetta:

    • Dice leftover roasted vegetables and mix with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and fresh herbs. Serve on toasted baguette slices for a light and flavorful appetizer.

  • Holiday Slider Trio:

    • Make sliders using leftover meats, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Arrange a variety for a bite-sized feast.

  • Cranberry Parfait:
